Since 2002, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation has supported the development of emerging artists in New Brunswick through a scholarship program.
The Fred Ross Scholarship was created to acknowledge the remarkable career of the painter Fred Ross and to recognise his deep interest in helping artist of the future. It is an opportunity for high school students entering post secondary training in the visual arts.
The Sheila Hugh Mackay Scholarship was created in honor of the Foundation’s patron after her death and is a yearly opportunity for an artist entering a recognised graduate program in the study of fine art or craft.
All awards and scholarships are given on the recommendation of independent panels of arts professionals.
