Special Projects
Since its formation in 1987, The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, has supported a wide range of special projects in addition to its various award programs. Originating from the founder’s early program of small seed grants to emerging artists, the Foundation now supports a wide range of projects both with individual artists and established arts organizations. With a mandate to promote public knowledge of, participation in and appreciation of Canadian arts and crafts, the Foundation continues to play a significant role in the cultural heritage of Canada.
Each project reflects the foundation’s commitment to encouraging growth in the cultural sector, encouraging scholarship and experimentation, supporting working artists and partnering with cultural organizations. Special Project Funding Criteria.
